Requirements
Nominated students must have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies, maintain a GPA equivalent to 2.5/4.0 or above, and show language proficiency: Spanish B2 (if taking classes in Spanish) or English B2 (TOEFL iBT 80, IELTS 6.5, or equivalent, if taking classes in English).
Nomination Process
Home university coordinators nominate students through the Tec online portal. Nominated students are then invited to complete their applications, select courses, and upload documents.
Orientation Week
Recommended arrival: One week before classes start for orientation and check-in (early August for Fall, late January for Spring).
Mandatory orientation week (Semana de Orientación) is organized by the International Programs office.

Arrival Checklist
- Obtain your student visa (FMM or Visa de Residente Temporal Estudiante) before arrival.
- Attend the mandatory Tec de Monterrey orientation week.
- Validate your international health insurance policy with the International Office.
- Register your biometric data and pick up your Tec student ID card.
Academics
Course Registration
Course selection and registration are completed online prior to arrival. Changes can be made during the official add/drop period in the first week of classes.
Credit System
Tec credit system. 1 Tec credit is equivalent to 1 US credit or approximately 1.67 ECTS. A standard course is usually 3 Tec credits, and the full workload is 18 credits per semester (equivalent to 30 ECTS).
Grading System
Grading scale is 0 to 100. The minimum passing grade for undergraduate courses is 70. Grade reports are published in the Portal de Alumnos at the end of the term.
Exam Culture
Strict 80% attendance is required to pass any course. Assessment is highly continuous, typically including three partial exams (parciales), weekly assignments, group projects, and a final exam/evaluation.
